Make up collection 2022

Hi everyone!

Around this time a year, with spring around the corner, I get the itch to try out new products on the market. I have a couple of Elf and Essence products on my wish list. However, when I get that urge to do more than window shopping, I try to take a look at my collection. This time around, I thought it might be fun to document the state of my collection in order to prevent myself from breaking my no-buy. I still have products in each make up category, so it not time to shop. I thought I would cover base face and eye products in this blog post and take notes of what not to shop.

I currently have 4 primers, one being a mini product. Becca is almost finished, so I am looking forward to start using the Milani primer soon. I can see myself finishing all these in 2022.

I have only two base products. Unfoundation from Undone cosmetics and Balm tinted moisturizer. Both are lightweight and on the glowy side. Undone is a bit older so I am prioritizing it over The Balm. I would like to add a mineral powder foundation to the collection, once the time comes.

5 concealers and I corrector. I don’t mind having some options in this category since I can always use it for spot concealing and like a light face base. I do love a good concealer and they are all on the newish side, with the exception of Milani that is about to be retired. I really like Elf for no make up days. NYX is the newest addition from December and so far I really like its creamines and coverage.

I currently have 3 powders. One is a loose powder from RCMA and that my the oldest one.  Kosas is just a mini, but it is baked formula, so I think it will also last a while. I don’t need more powders any time soon.

2 eye primers are perfectly enough to get me prepped for any make up look. Milani is a classic and Elf is a glitter glue type of primer. Quite happy with this little collection.

One setting spray at the moment and I won’t be getting anything new before this one runs out. Pretty fresh is quite a nice setting spray.

Also very happy with my brow situation. A slim pencil, a pen and a brow gel. Added freckle pen in this category. Sometimes I use it to emphasize my natural freckles. Don’t really need this product, but since it is here I am using it.

Technically 7 eye products in this category since both of the supershock shadows are the same color in Koosh. (it shattered in the mail, so they sent me a new one – which also shattered, but I have repressed them both, so I am just rolling with it). I love a good one and done eyeshadow, like Lisa Eldridge and Charlotte Tilbury. All of them have a place in my collection. I have yet to use NYX jumbo crayon. I want to use it underneath the pastel shadows.

5 mascaras. Most of them are minis. I have one that is almost done, two that are open and I have still to try out Rare Beauty mascara. I love Bite mascara. Best discovery of the last year. I love trying out new mascaras, and these are will be used up probably in the first half of the year. Which means I get to try something new this year. Yay!

Eye liners are the category that I probably use the least. Especially liquid liners which I have two of. One mini and one brown. The other eye liners are pencil and I have them in all the colors that I would realistically use, but somehow they get overlooked in my collection. I will try to get more use out of them this year, especially since Colourpop eyeliners tend to dry out and then fall out of the tube. I do enyoy Urban decay and CT colors a lot. Sigma was free gift with purchase and I rarely use black eyeliners. Just for Mardi Gras. Maybe it is time to shake things up.

All these categories are usually under control. Cheek products is where it can get our of hand if I am not careful. Those are the products that take longer to use up and easy to accumulate. Stay tuned for part two where I tackle the blush, bronzer and highlight category. It should be fun as I love my cheek products.

Talk to you soon and have a great day! XOXO, Iva
