Eye shadow palette collection

Hi everyone!

Hope you are well on this warm late spring day. Today I wanted to round up my make up collection posts with the overview of my eye shadow palettes. These are all the palettes that are with me with at any given time. I do have a couple of more palettes in my home town, but those will have to wait for some other occasion to be presented. I have tried to organize them by size and brand (not quite like Monika who organizes her stuff in 11 categories 🙂 but close enough).

Lime Crime Venus XL II entered my collection late last year but has quickly become one of my favorites. I have been eying it for a while, heard people talk about it on occasions (it is by no mean a new release), often with polarizing opinions. However, the color story was so pretty that, once I saw a good sale on it, I could no longer wait. I love this color story. It is so soft and romantic and feminine. It screams spring to me and I just loved every look I got out of it so far. The colors are a bit more muted which is what I prefer and maybe some would object to the glittery topper shades, but I am so happy with this palette. Sydney Grace Tiny Marvels was also always very appealing to me. Sydney Grace had an outstanding formula. This is a fantastic collab with late Mel Thompson and it was sold out most of the time. Once they brought it back to honor Mel and help out her family, I knew it was the right time to get it. The colors are just stunning. While most of us are nowhere near the Mel’s mastery, I like to pretend I am her apprentice and play with the colors in the palette whenever I can. That pastel purple is so stunning for the spring time. Natasha Denona Glam palette was on my radar from day one. I got it right upon the release in 2020 and enjoyed it ever since. Also, I got it for “free”. I had a Sephora rouge coupon that I used on this palette (which means I have spent too much money in Sephora over the previous year, to be able to get the coupon). One of the best formulas and color stories. Looks “boring” but it is the most beautiful palette. Every single shade is amazing and the packaging is just nice and sleek with that huge mirror. Juvias Place palettes have a great formula and super fun color story. I am not always super brave to wear purple, blue or green, but when I feel like experimenting, I like to dip into these two palettes. The Deuce is the prettiest soft spring palette, but you can also get some dramatic looks with it (which I never really do). The color story is just so pretty to look at and all the shades look so well with each other, which makes is very versatile. The Magic mini is super fun palette to have. That purple duochrome shade is one of my favorites. It looks stunning on the eyes as it transitions to pink purple.

BH cosmetics has a really good formula and these palettes were super affordable. I got them on Black Friday last year and some of them were just under 7 dollars. These are really high end formula quality. I love the color stories of all of them. Amalfi and Hawaii are more neutral and LA and Avocado are more fun with unique color stories. Malibu shade from LA palette is so much fun for a one shadow look and Avocado has all the green shades that I could possibly ever want. BH cosmetics have been bought by Makeup Revolution, so they have most of the palettes still on sale, but I don’t know how much longer. I hope they keep this great formula. We’ll see what’s in the cards for BH cosmetics, but if you are into these color stories, you will be happy with the quality and the price for sure.

Zoeva Melody was a limited edition palette, but I knew I like the formula since I had some smaller palettes from the brand before. This color story was so pretty and (again) feminine and spring like with the rosy and purple tone, while still being neutral. That lightest white looking shadow actually has a little bit of a shift, so it is not stark. Some of the browns are very beautiful bronze colors, and the others are just perfect classic matte crease and outer corner browns. Anyways, I should say it sucks since you can’t get it anymore, but I really like it. Sorry.

I have two Colorpop palettes: Going coconuts and Blush crush. I especially love Blush crush. All the pink tones (and a bit of mauve in there in the last row) once can ask for. I get very pretty looks from this palette and it is still available on the Colorpop site. They are known for phasing out their palettes very quickly, but this one has a favorites status, so I guess they keep making it. Same goes for Going Coconuts. It is a great little neutral palette, but with this palette I have to be careful since the shimmer shadow formula is a bit more crumbly than usual. I had to repress the middle shade in the bottom row and it is still making a mess in the palette. Overall, a very nice palette, but now that I have Natasha Denona Glam palette, if I needed to downsize, Coconuts would be the first one to go. I will keep it of course and get as much of  use as I can. Persona Identity I is one of my all time favorites. Beautiful formula with both mattes and shimmers. I have the old packaging and I love it. Nowadays, it comes in a plastic, more sturdy case with a bigger mirror. This palette is beautiful for any occasion, from weddings to everyday office looks. Big fan.

I have a handful of Natasha Denona mini palettes and (here) one 5 pan palette. Mini nude was my first introduction to ND formula and boy oh boy, it is worth all the hype. Mini Glam and Mini Retro have a beautiful color story and my newest is Mini Zendo (I have to admit it is from this spring Sephora sale-yes, I broke my no buy for it). It is becoming one of my top favorites. It has a special color story and it just looks super flattering on the eyes with all the warm tones. Silver shade makes it more fun and to make a statement. 5 pan palette is number 8 (not sure if it is still available), but I was drawn to all the shimmery shades that are very wearable. I love the middle pink shade as it has a goldish shift. It is amazing for a one shadow look with a touch of an eyeliner and mascara. This shade reminds me a bit of the Huda beauty pink shade in the Nude Light palette. It gives very similar effect on the eyes. I love this little palette. I bought it in Sephora in Genova, Italy on a zumba trip one month prior to world shutting down to epidemic. It hold really good memories by buying it there and enjoying it ever since. One of my all time favorites is from EM cosmetics. Beautiful little eyeshadow palette in Magic hour. It gives me peachy pinks and some neutrals in the outstanding formula format. Easy to work with and easy to blend and the result eye look looks like I have more skills than I actually do. My final palette is from Elf bitesize in Rosewater color. This palette is satisfying my mauve color needs in my collection. The formula is quite nice and the price is very affordable. I especially love the shimmers.

This completes my palette collection and rounds up to 21 eye shadow palette. Quite a bit, I know. I do love how rounded my collection is. It gives me plenty of neutral everyday tones that I love, with some taupey or warm twists, but also a variety of pinks (I think those are my favorites to wear) and greens, to some fun intense colors. I like the formulas of all the palettes and it makes me happy to use them.

What are your favorite eye shadow palettes?

Hope you have a great rest of the weekend and enjoy your Monday off.

Talk to you soon! XOXO, Iva
