Plan for project pan of 2021

Hi everyone! I am back with a new post about my project pan for 2021. I have looked at my collection and selected what I want to focus on using (or using up) this year. Some of the products are on the older side, so I want to make sure I use them before they go bad. Some of them are products I want out of my collection and some of them are my absolute favorite, as I think it is important to use products you love. Otherwise, you might end up hating the products you use and that makes project panning more of a chore than a joy of using up your make up collection.  Let’s start with the products that I have carried over from last year.

My goal was to hit pan on Charlotte Tilbury Face powder and Hourglass Luminous light powder. I wanted to use up the Becca face powder and that mini bronzer, as well as Nudestix stick foundation. I thought I would be done with Glossier pot concealer and that I would make a bigger dent in the Becca under eye corrector. I wanted to use up Glossier blush in Puff, as it is a cream product. As we can all see, it did not happen. So, my goal for this year would be to finish as many of these products which should not be so hard regarding Becca powder and Nudestix stick foundation as they are already well loved nor the bigger powder in a compact because it is a shallow pan. They have all been part of my collection for a while. I will try to use up Glossier concealer, but I fail, I will just declutter it in the end of the year, since I have had it since the summer of 2018.

Here are some of the base products I want to focus on. I mainly want to use up the base products that are on a verge of expiring. Actually, that Flower Beauty Light illusion is technically expired, but I think it is due to the fact it contains sunscreen. It smells the same, it behaves the same on the skin so I will try to get the most of it. If I end up not using it up by the end of the year, again, I will declare it done. Same with Physicians formula Healthy foundation. I love that Undone unfoundation glow tint. It mixes well with other foundations, so I think it is a realistic goal for the to be able to use it up. I do like that Hourglass powder and Becca primer, but like I have said, I am no longer enthusiastic about those brands, plus Becca announced that they are closing down the brand in September, so I am perfectly fine not having them in my collection. And finally Charlotte Tilbury single eye shadow. I love that shade in Marie Antoinette and it is a perfect “one and done” type of look. However, it is a cream shadow and they tend to dry out, so I am getting my money’s worth before that happens.

I love all of these products, but Milani Luminoso is the oldest blush in my collection (from November of 2015!!!) I love it and especially love it in the summer when I have some tan. It would be cool to see if I can hit pan on it. Those two concealers, Jouer and Tarte, are from 2019, so it is time to give them some love as they are two oldest concealers in my collection (along with that Glossier one). Fenty setting spray is almost done, since I have been using it for the last couple of months. Nevertheless it is a beautiful product that is a joy to use. Same with Fenty bronzer in Shady bizz. I love the shade for my skintone, so I want to use it. Tatcha primer is my newest primer, but the packaging broke so I want to use it up. Smashbox primer is great, but I am over Smashbox as a brand so that is why it is in this project pan. Love the Glossier cloud paint blushes. They were all bought at the same time, so it makes sense to focus on them at the same time. I love how you can mix and match colors, so I get all the shades of blushes that I want by using them.

I know we are wearing masks all the time, but I still like to wear lip products, especially lip glosses. I have picked some older ones, like Persona cosmetics, and new ones like Tower 28, as well as Fenty glosses, which really are some of the best on the market along with Marc Jacobs. I have a lot of mini sizes, which makes it realistic to use up, plus it will bring the numbers of my lip products down (since I am trying to downsize). Glossier clear gloss is one of my all time favorites, and it is almost used up. Probably didn’t need to be in the project since it would be gone this year anyways, but this way I am making sure it is not neglected. The Thrive causmetics lip balm treatment is also newer to me, but it feel so nourishing on the lips, that I wanted to roll it in and use all the time. The two lipsticks I am adding to the mix are from Tarte and Too faced. Tarte lipstick is one of my all time favorite (shade Tulip, but it is no longer available) and this mini Too faced lipstick is the last Too faced product in my collection so I wanted to get rid of it by using it up. I have mentioned before I am also over Colourpop, and their lip products tend to go bad really quickly, so rolling them in the project will make sure I use them up before if happens.

I tend to neglect my lip liners and eye liners, so these couple of products will keep me in check while using them up. Anastasia Brow Wizz is great, but so old now and spoolie is all busted that I wanted to use it up and move on. I have learned over the years that I don’t need the lip priming products like that Colourpop one. I just use lip balm or lip oil and voila. No need to hoard unnecessary products.

This is probably my most ambitious project pan with about 50 products, but it will be fun to see how it goes, what I manage to use up and how long it will take me. I think I have a good mix of products I really love and products that I want to use up and move on. It will be fun and I am excited about it.

We will see in the end of the year, in my yearly make up empties, how well or how bad did it go. Did I over estimate myself or not? I think it will be successful, but I am always and optimist. Just my nature.

Talk to you soon and have a great day! XOXO, Iva
