My top 5 palettes for Valentine’s day

Hi everyone! Since tomorrow is Valentine’s day, I thought I would highlight some of my favorite palettes for the occasion. We are staying in, ordering a pizza from our favorite place (Karijola in Zagreb) as it is became of our tradition to go there on Valentine’s day. Anyway, I have a prefect excuse to dress up and put on some make up for a night in.

So, I have a couple of palettes on my mind. Please note that these picks are based on what comes to my mind when I think of a look for that day. I think of something soft and romantic, with pink and purple hue, some sparkle and there you go. It just screams femininity. 🙂

First let’s talk about super easy and an obvious choice, Modern Renaissance from Anastasia Beverly Hills. It is such a classic for many people. It suits so many events or if you are just looking for a great year round palette. I think these warm neutrals and reddish tones are perfect for a romantic look. The formula is great, very pigmented and blendable. However you will get some kickback from dipping your brush in. This is also one of my oldest palettes and it still performs beautifully so it is one of my all time favorites.

Speaking of Anastasia Beverly Hills, Norvina palette is such a beautiful choice for Valentines look. I love the combination of pink a purple. You have some shimmery shades to glam it all up, although I do like an all matte look as well. You can go super bold or super soft with this palette. This is not a new palette on the market, but it is newer palette to me and I am happy to have added it to my collection.

Natasha Denona’s mini Retro glam. It is a perfect name for this 5 pan palette. I know everyone is talking about her mini Love palette right now, but I love this one so much. Such a fun combination of pink and greyish/olive tones. (reminds me a bit of my first clothes choices as a kid) The variety of this mini palette is amazing. For 5 shades, you can get different looks, depend on what you go for. I am not a make up artist of course, but the looks I have seen on Natasha Denona’s Instagram (and Instagram in general) are extremely beautiful. I think I will wear this one myself tomorrow.

The last two are kind of similar, but I love them both. First is Huda beauty Nude light palette. Also a great choice for me, as the variety in this 9 pan palette is lovely. It will suit lighter skin tones, but Huda also has two other options for deeper skin tones which is always amazing when brands think of the diversity. I love that pinky duochrome shade (second row on the right). So flattering on the eyes. All of the shades perform really well and I love the looks I get out of this palette. I need to use it more, plus it will be perfect for the coming spring months as well.

Last, but not least, I wanted to mention a more affordable option. It is Blush Crush from Colourpop. It is in stock on their website and even discounted. Colourpop is notorious for having their palettes out of stock, but this one is not their brand new launch, so it is available in the moment. They have a really good quality shadows at affordable price. Shadows are pigmented and blend out beautifully. It is more of a monochromatic palette, but these two darker purples will add the special oomph to the look. Big fan of it.

So, what do you think? Also, what are your plans for Valentine’s day? I hope you have a great time, whatever you do, celebrating or not. Hope you are happy and healthy and in love. Talk to you soon!

XOXO, Iva
