Declutter to Project Beauty Share

Hi everyone,

I have been using my eyeshadows a lot lately and I have mentioned last time, that I see some potential overlap in my collection. I have been experimenting with different eye looks and came to conclusion that I don’t like when my eye shadows look too dark on me. It turns out that my contrast level is low which means that if I wear mid to dark look shadows, it starts to look a bit too dramatic for my taste. I look overdone. I look like I am trying too much and it tends to look heavy on me. With that in mind I have let go of six eyeshadow palettes.

I bought Too faced Sweet Peach last year at the final sale since they stopped making it. I thought I would get a lot of use from it, but half of these shades looks really dark on my eyes. I would get use of some lighter shades and those two warm shades in the bottom row, but I also realized that I don’t really enjoy the formula of this palette. I also don’t like Too faced as a brand, so it was a logical decision to let this one go.

I also bought ATHR Desert palette on the grand sale last year when they closed the brand (which they have brought back since) and while I do enjoy this formula and the brand, most of these shades look a bit too dark on me if don’t use those three lightest shades. I really like the unique looking warm greenish shade, and even debated on keeping it just for that shade, but then I realized that I have a very similar shade in my singles collection: Tea garden from Colorpop. Once I saw that, it was easy to pass it along.

Viseart Minxete was also a long coveted palette for me. They tend to get pricey, so I scored a good deal at the last Black Friday sale. I love the shades and I love looking at it, but the shades are very pigmented and tranlate much darker on my eyes than what they seem in the palette. All of them look too intense on me, even the top row shades which are the lightest looking. The quality is superb though.

The last three palettes are all from Natasha Denona. I held on to these for a while, but honestly Mini Nude Glam pulls a bit too cool and darker than what I like on me. I have dupes for the two shades one the ends, that I sometimes used. I remember being so happy finally getting Mini Gold, but again I don’t reach for the greenish shadows anymore and that gold is really yellow gold. That fist brown shadow I can easily dupe with other things in my collection, so it was time for her to find a new home.

The 5 pan palette in no13 is pretty but I only use browns from it and they are also repetitive in my collection, so I parted ways with it.

The last two things were two blushes. One is from Tarte in the shade White Peach which I bought this January. It was fine, a perfectly nice blush. After owning a few of these shades in the past, Tarte Amazonian clay is not my absolute favorite formula now that I have tried more blushes. It is almost brand new and I have very similar shades, so I didn’t use this one much. EM cosmetics also went underused in the last years. While it is a beautiful blush, I tend to reach for other blushes I have. I debated a long time about this one, but if I end up missing it, I can repurchase it again. So for the time being, I can live without it.

It is always useful to swatch you collection to see if there is overlap and you are looking to downsize. Nothing wrong with having more, but it is not for me.

So, since we are away from our home, and I have no one to give these products to, I decided to donate to Project Beauty Share. Most of these things are relatively new so they will find a good home through this organization with noble cause. You can find more information on the link: Project Beauty Share. I encourage you not to let you makeup go to waste. Pass it along to someone who can use it and enjoy it, so you don’t waste products. It will brighten someone else’s day.

Hope you have a nice day!

XOXO, Iva
