Another switch up in Lisa Eldridge palette

Lisa Eldridge made a new summer collection and among them there was this beautiful eyeshadow palette called Desert Gleam. The shades look spectacular. I took a long look at the shades that I have, that I would actually want to use and that would suit me, so instead of buying a full palette with six new tempting shades, I bought two single shades to add to, what used to be, my Cinnabar palette.

I have added Sahara and Ablaze and swapped the existing shades that were in the top row: Bronzite (warm copper) and Fired Earth (dark brown). I figured I don’t need two dark browns in the palette as I was gravitating more towards Deep Ochre that is in the bottom row in case I was using something dark. I also didn’t wear Bronzite much, and I was much more drawn to this new Ablaze shade that I thought would look better on me.

Sahara is the khaki that I have been searching for. It is more of a green yellowish on me, just right for my skintone. Lisa describes it as a soft khaki and I am so grateful that it is on the light warm neutral side. I am always drawn to khaki shades. However, khaki shades from different palettes in the past always pull too dark or leaned to gray. This Sahara shade is like it was made for me. Ablaze is also beautiful. Lisa describes it as neutral bronze, just as cool as it is warm. I love that it is not bright warm orange type of bronze, but the most beautiful shade of brown bronze that is, again, ideal for me. I love these additions I have made. I have swatched the High Maintenance shade that I bought earlier this year for the reference and took a picture also next to the previously swapped shade Lost Summer, so now I have my perfect little “Iva” palette. I can’t call it Cinnabar anymore since half of the palette is swapped half of the shades. (shades swatched from left to right: Lost Summer, Bronzite, Fired Earth-all from the original Cinnabar, Sahara and Ablaze from Desert Gleam, High maintenance from Betty palette)

As you can see I have a big pan in the Raw Sienna shade. I am noticing that this shade is changing a bit, due to the age of the shade, but I still love it and I will try to use is as much as I can for as long as I feel that it is safe for my eyes. Maybe in the future I would potentially add the shade Dunes in its place or Upper West Side from the Fawn palette. Or simply replace it with a new Raw Sienna. For now, I am very happy with this new look of my little palette.

I also bought a new lipstick from in the shade Lili from the Rouge Experience line. Oh my! It is the red that I was looking for. Muted, spicy red color that is just right for my soft features and it comes in the “forever” bullet case. I had it also engraved with my initials and I love it. My years long search for the perfect red lipstick is over. If you are a soft autumn like me, you might want to check it out. The photos doesn’t do it justice. Also, I actually got two lipsticks because my packaging was faulty, so the customer service sent me the replacement case, but also another Lili shade. I am covered for a while now.

I just wanted to share this little update and hope you are having a great summer so far.

Talk to you soon!

XOXO, Iva
